Swirnow theater in the Mattin center

the Swirnow black-box is our mainstage performance space in which we produce all of our professionally directed shows. The Barnstormers have been able to use the theater since its grand opening (along with the Mattin center) in the spring of 2001. The theater is well enough equipped to accomodate and inspire everything from small to large, abstract or realistic shows. Performances here are truly special because they result from the stretching of the company's theatrical and technical abilities.

Arellano theater in Levering hall

Arellano is our premiere performance space for less formal shows - under student direction. Its small size and modest stage bring audience and performance members closer together, offering opportunities to embellish a show's subtleties to make them richer and more personal. One of the more memorable performances held each year in Arellano is the fall's Freshmen One Acts. This is the only time when Freshmen actors and technicians are offered the chance to stand as a class in the spotlight of Hopkins Theater and show off the theatrical merits of the new year's students.
